At Ioseli Renzo’s grave in Montagnana, Italy, a cat named Toldo used to bring and leave: an acacia branch, paper towels, a plastic cup, etc. These are just some of the gifts that Toldo placed on the grave of his former master.
Toldo was only a 3-year-old kitten, but he was more devoted and mute than most Markans. Every day, he visited the grave of a man who died in September 2011. Renzo adopted Toldo
from the shelter when the cat was three months old, and the two fell in love. After Renzo’s death, Toldo followed the casket to the cemetery and has been “guarding” the grave for hours ever since, Renzo’s family said.
